Assumption Day 2026 in Austria

Assumption Day, or Mariä Himmelfahrt, is observed on 15 August. In Catholic teaching, the feast commemorates Mary being taken, body and soul, into heaven at the end of her earthly life. The date is also observed under related Marian titles in some other Christian traditions. Austria includes the feast among its 2026 public holidays.
