Day of the Burning of Jan Hus 2026 in Czechia

The Czech calendar lists 6 July as the Day of the Burning of Jan Hus (Den upálení mistra Jana Husa). The observance recalls Jan Hus, a Bohemian religious reformer who was executed by burning at the Council of Constance in 1415. His teachings and death are significant in Czech religious and national history. The calendar confirms the name, date, and public classification, but does not supply historical detail; an authoritative Czech historical source could verify the account and explain the observance’s official framing.
