St. Cyril and Methodius Day 2026 in Czechia

Czechia’s calendar lists 5 July as St. Cyril and Methodius Day, or Den slovanských věrozvěstů Cyrila a Metoděje. The observance recalls the ninth-century Christian missionaries Cyril and Methodius, whose work among Slavic peoples is an important part of Czech and wider Slavic religious and cultural history. The supplied calendar confirms the date, Czech name, and public classification, but does not explain the historical background. An official cultural or historical source could provide a fuller account.
