Abolition of slavery 2026 in France

French Guiana’s calendar entry lists Abolition de l’esclavage as a public holiday on 10 June 2026. This is a regional observance, not evidence of a nationwide French holiday on that date. The supplied background is about abolition in the United States, so it does not verify the French Guianese history or meaning of the commemoration. The calendar supports the local name, date and classification. Local public authorities or an authoritative French slavery-history resource could provide suitable regional context.
