Saarland’s calendar lists Mariä Himmelfahrt (Assumption Day) as a public holiday on Saturday, 15 August 2026. The supplied context explains the Catholic belief that Mary was taken body and soul into heaven at the end of her earthly life, and notes that the feast is celebrated on this date. It also distinguishes the related Eastern Christian observance of the Dormition. The calendar’s regional label establishes a Saarland listing; it should not be read as evidence of public-holiday status throughout Germany.
