Labour Day 2026 in Germany

Tag der Arbeit (Labour Day) falls on Friday, 1 May 2026, and is listed as a public holiday throughout Germany. The supplied context describes Labour Day as an annual celebration of the labor movement and its achievements, and connects the date in many countries with International Workers’ Day. It traces the observance to labor union campaigns, including demands for an eight-hour workday. The excerpt notes that dates and traditions differ internationally; its description of 1 May should not be confused with Labour Day in countries that observe it on another date.
