Reformation Day 2026 in Germany

Lower Saxony’s calendar lists Reformationstag (Reformation Day) as a public holiday on Saturday, 31 October 2026. The supplied context describes the observance as a Protestant Christian day commemorating the Reformation’s beginning. The date is traditionally associated with Martin Luther’s Ninety-five Theses in 1517, although the context cautions that the popular account of their being nailed to a church door is not certain. This is a state-specific entry. It does not establish public-holiday status elsewhere in Germany, where recognition varies by state.
