Thuringia’s calendar lists Weltkindertag (World Children’s Day) as a public holiday on Sunday, 20 September 2026. The supplied context describes Children’s Day generally as a commemorative date in honor of children and notes that observance dates differ from country to country. It also distinguishes the United Nations’ World Children’s Day on 20 November from other national or regional dates. The German entry is specifically for Thuringia; it should not be confused with the UN date or treated as a nationwide German public holiday.
