New Year's Day 2027 in Germany

New Year's Day, or Neujahr, falls on 1 January and opens the Gregorian calendar year. The supplied context describes it as a widely celebrated public holiday and notes that midnight celebrations and resolutions are common in some places; these customs are not universal. Germany's calendar lists the date as a public holiday without a regional limitation. The date marks the turn of the civil calendar, rather than a lunar or lunisolar new year, which can fall at other times.
